Mullumbimby Living Community Festival 2014

Mullumbimby Living Community Festival 2014

Santos Organics sponsors Living Community Festival 2014!

Mullumbimby Community Garden's sustainability festival is on again - The Living Community Festival  on Sunday the 7th of September.

This is the premier sustainability festival for the Northern Rivers Region so if you’re in the area come and visit, if you’re not a local, plan your holiday now - It’s so worth the trip!

The day will all kick start with a BANG with the colourful street parade through Mullumbimby at 10am, arriving at the festival for the opening ceremony at 11am. To participate in this lively and fun parade please contact [email protected].

The Santos Organics Positive Action Forum presents keynotes from Professor Ian Lowe  (Australian Conservation Foundation),Clive Hamilton (Australia Institute),Costa Georgiardis (ABC’s Gardening Australia) Behrokh Koshnevis, (3D printing) And we look forward to a Q&A forum exploring ‘How to engage community in sustainability’.

Then there is the Bamboo Sculpture Competition being run in by the Australian Bamboo Society as part of our festival. We are hosting this grand competition for the best bamboo sculpture, First Prize being $2500. Anyone can enter.

We also have a jam-packed workshop program covering topics on organic gardening, permaculture, bio dynamics, health, crafts, sustainable technologies and more.

The Children's Garden will be flourishing with activities for the kids and this year revolving around a Garden Gnome theme.  Also there will be the Youth Space with inspiring discussion topics and things to do.

There will be live music, delicious food, a healing centre and informative stalls from our wonderfully talented community.
