Earl Grey tea is a tea blend that is derived from the addition of oil extracted from the rind of the bergamot orange. It was named after the 2nd Earl Grey who was a British Prime Minister in the 1830's. He was said to have received a diplomatic gift of bergamot flavoured tea.
