Prunes are essentially dried plums and are used in sweet and savoury dishes alike. They are a chewy
and nutritious snack.

Contain high amonts of iron (non-heme) - 1 cup contains 4-6mg of iron (best consumed with vitamin
C)

Good amounts of vitamin A, vitamin B3, phoshporus and potassium

Some copper, magnesium and calcium

Natural laxative (especially soaked)
NOTE: Sulphur free. As with most dried fruit it is important to increase water intake
with consumption. Also, dried fruit in comparison to fresh fruit may have a lower vitamin and
mineral content and has a higher concentration of it's natural sugars.
